Reverend Isaac Kwesi Begyinah, the Eastern Regional Head of the Musama Disco Christo Church, in Koforidua asked politicians to be decent and respect divergent opinions to deepen the country's democracy.

In a sermon to mark Christmas at the Church in Koforidua on Christmas day, he expressed worry at the level of bitterness and acrimony that has characterized the country's politics.

He urged all political parties to carry out electioneering campaign devoid of insults.

Rev Begyinah entreated the media to be circumspect in their reportage to avoid strife especially in the run-up to the 2008 Election.

In a related development, Rev B.S.Y. Asase, pastor in charge of the Koforidua branch of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, exhorted Ghanaians to be modest and willing to offer social services to their communities.

He urged Christian professionals to deploy their talents for the benefit of the less privileged in society.

Pastor Bright Asare of the World Mission Christ Church, in Koforidua called on Christians to ensure morality and decency in the Church and society.
