Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) says his track-record as a “dependable employer’, puts him ahead of all other candidates in job creation for the people.

He said he would replicate the economic boom enjoyed in the early days of the Nkrumah regime and bring back smiles on the faces of numerous job seekers in the country.

Dr Nduom said this while touring Aflao, Dzodze, Penyi, in the Ketu-North District and Keta and Dzelukope in the Keta District, where he interacted with chiefs and elders.

He said his current rounds in the country were to prepare the grounds ahead of his campaign later in the year towards the 2008 general elections.

"We have reawakened the CPP with renewed energy and spirit to fight and win power as the best party now to propel the country into prosperity," Dr Nduom stated.

He said Ghanaians were looking up to the CPP as the beckon of hope after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) governments.

"Our goal is ensuring prosperity, peace and national unity," he said.

Dr Nduom said his government would improve the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to extend accessibility to healthcare in the country.

Togbe Amenya Fiti V, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, debunked the perception that people in the area were sentimentally attached to one particular party.

He said the place remained open to other political parties, including the CPP, which, he said used to have a strong base in the area and needed to do some hard work to make an impact.

Togbe Dadzi IV, Chief of Penyi observed that the CPP could make inroads in the region if it adopted the appropriate campaign strategy to draw people into its fold.

Dr Nduom's and his retinue including Mr Prince Ahiadzro and Mr Adjetey Sowah CPP Volta Regional Chairman and Secretary respectively also held meetings with officials of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) at the Aflao Ghana-Togo frontier at Aflao.
