The dismissed Interior Minister, Mr. Kwamena Bartels says he has no regrets after his exclusion from government.

He said he had prepared his mind to accept such a decision in advance and was therefore not devastated by the decision.

Mr. Bartels was dropped following a cabinet reshuffle that saw failed presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Addo Kufuor take the Interior Ministry.

Mr. Bartels told Joy News that he was grateful to the president for giving him the opportunity to serve his country.

He said he was proud of his achievements during his tenure as Minister of Private Sector Development, Information and Interior.

Some analysts believe Mr. Bartels’ sack was informed by his poor handling of the Bawku crisis, the Liberian refugee saga and other related matters.

But he rejected those suggestions saying he acted in good faith in all matters.

A Political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mr. Kwesi Amakye however agreed with the president’s decision to relieve Mr. Bartels of his post.

He told Joy News that the former Minister’s handling of matters of insecurity was not the best.

The reshufle also affected Aviation Minister Ms Gloria Akuffo and Mr Asare Bosompem who proposed as Ambassadors to the Republic of Ireland and Togo respectively.

Paapa Owusu Ankomah is the Minister designate for Trade, Industries, PSD and PSI, Mr Kwabena Mensah Bonsu, Minister of State while Mr Joe Baidoo Ansah, goes for Aviation.
