The Central Regional Police is investigating the former Regional Minister and New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency, Mr. Isaac Edumadze for assaulting two journalists.

Mr. Adumadze is accused of assaulting the two journalists, Joe Okyere of the Daily Graphic and Philip Baidoo of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

He was said to have gone berserk after losing the constituency’s primaries on Sunday and attacked the two who have gone to his house to greet him.

According to a report in the Daily Graphic, Mr Edumadze, who has been in the news several times for his aggressive nature and bullying tactics, together with his macho men, held the two reporters in his residence at Ajumako for over an hour, most of which time he assaulted Mr Okyere.

While he repeatedly assaulted the reporter, the report said he accused him of writing false reports about him which has resulted in his loss of the primaries.

Speaking to Joy News, Superintendent Emmanuel Appiah of the Ajumako police said the MP has been invited to respond to the charges.

Mr. Edumadze lost to Mr. Arthur Baiden with 45 votes as against Mr. Baiden’s 52 votes.
