An Accra-based Legal Practitioner Mr Samuel Atta-Akyea, has won the NPP Parliamentary primaries for Abuakwa South constituency at a special delegates conference held at Bunso.

He polled 49 votes to beat Mr Kwame Boateng who had 17 votes, Miss Gloria Ofori Boadu, 10 votes Nana Fredua Ofori-Atta, five votes.

Mr Atta-Akyea, expressed appreciation to the delegates for their support and called for unity and hard work to ensure victory for the Party in the constituency.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency and NPP Flag bearer, expressed appreciation for the peaceful primaries describing it as a sign of maturity.

He said the NPP government had demonstrated to Ghanaians that their decision to vote the party into power was wise one.

That he said was because despite the world economic crisis, Ghana’s economy had been well managed that it stood against crisis.

Nana Akufo-Addo said for the first time in the political history of Ghana, the country would have a government in January 2009 with the financial resources necessary to undertake developmental projects.
