The 31st December Women’s Movement has accused the media of showing disinterest in their activities.

This, it claims, has created an erroneous impression that the movement no longer exist.

In an interview with Joy News, Sherry Aryitey, the movement’s Finance and Projects Coordinator admits the change in government has affected coverage for their various activities.

“We have not been docile, when the NDC was in power we had the advantage of press coverage, but since it went into opposition nobody is interested in our project and nobody carries it.”

She however maintained that the movement is still carrying out its projects to empower women and other vulnerable groups in the society.

The movement founded by the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has been perceived to be the women’s wing of the NDC and has tried to shirk that perception.
