Queens Skipper Adjoa Bayor says simplicity will be their game when they meet the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon in the second group game at the ongoing African Women Championship (AWC) on Wednesday.
The player told the GNA Sports in Warri, Delta State that “With victory on our mind, we can only play it simple to make our dream a reality.”
The creative genius who gifted Ghana a win with an extra time strike when the two sides met in the semi finals of the 2002 Championship in Warri, said, “we cannot afford to lose and judging from the physical nature of our opponents, we can only win by going the simple way throughout the game.”
Bayor said the team will avoid every physical contact with the Lioness and rather meet every pass and make the most out of their chances.
The Queens won 1-0 against Mali in their opening game in a performance the skipper reckons was not up to scratch.
The dribbler told the GNA Sports, “We did not play to satisfaction against Mali but I know for sure that tomorrow’s game will be different.
“We are ready to die for the three points and with enough lessons learnt from the first game, I’m convinced our chances have gotten a whole lot better”.
The player has featured in all the four previous competitions and believes the time to wrestle power from the Super Falcons of Nigeria is now”.
Ghana is making her fifth attempt at achieving this goal while the Nigerians have won all four previous competitions and are hosting it for the third time.
