Ghana's team preparations is set for Tuesday's international friendly with Australia at Queens Park Rangers’ Loftus Road Stadium in London.
Both nations exited from the World Cup finals in the second round hosted by Germany, however they would square off Tuesday evening with either side looking for an impressive result.
Ghana has gone unbeaten after the World Cup and would be looking for their fourth win after three successive wins in post World Cup international friendlies.
The Black Stars completed over an hour's training session at the match venue on Monday and would be missing the central defensive pair of Shilla Illiasu and John Mensah who are down with injuries.
But Black Stars coach, Cluade Le Roy has lots of options to pick his starting eleven against the Socceroos.
FC Copenhagen striker, Razak Pimpong, one of the players involved in last month's Asian conquest but missing from Claude Le Roy's original squad, has been called up into the team.
The fast running attacker trained with the rest of the Black Stars squad on Monday. The game would be the fourth international friendly for Ghana after the World Cup finals and the third for new Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy.
Le Roy already has two Ghana victories under his belt. The fixture is an important one for Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, who would celebrate his 50th cap in national colours.
The 26-year-old attacker received his first senior cap on his 16th Birthday when Ghana played Benin on 24th December, 1996. Appiah has managed 49 caps and scored 12 goals, as of October 2006.
Ghana after a second round exit from the World Cup in Germany have remained unbeaten in three international friendly matches.
The Black Stars beat Togo 2-0 in September before completing a successful double over Asian giants, Japan and South Korea last month. The Black Stars beat Japan’s senior national side 1-0 in London and four days later went on to hand South Korea a 3-1 defeat in Seoul.
Ahead of Tuesday’s game, Australia coach, Graham Arnold has been ducked by injury induced pull outs.
Midfielders Tim Cahill and Josip Skoko, and defender Lucas Neill have pulled out of the friendly. Cahill was stretchered off over the weekend in the English premiership.
The Socceroos would also be without striker, Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell who are both injured.
The friendly with the Socceroos forms part of Ghana’s build up towards the African Cup of Nations in two years time.
Ghana, by virtue of being host of the 2008 African Cup of Nations finals would not be playing any competitive match until January 2008, when the tournament kicks off in Accra.
