The senior national women’s team would on Sunday continue with their steady progression as they seek to make their debut at the Olympic Games.

Ghana’s Black Queens would be at the Coronation park in Sunyani where they host Angola in the return leg of Africa’s first round qualifiers for the 2008 Olympic Games women’s football competition on Sunday.

Second leg ties for the women’s Olympic qualifying series continues this weekend for Africa’s sixteen nations vying for the single slot to the 2008 Beijing Games.

Ghana posted a 2-1 win over the Angolans in the first tie in Luanda and would be seeking to complete the job with a home win.

And team coach, Isaac Paha is not getting carried away with the home advantage.

“We are not getting complacent. The team has been preparing well for the return leg and we would give it our all,” Paha said from the team’s camp in Sunyani.

Victory for the senior women’s team, the Black Queens over the two-leg tie would see Ghana in the last eight of the qualifying series.

But coach of the Angolan national female soccer team André Nzuzi, hopes that his players show the same attitude seen during their preparation matches to guarantee them a place in the next stage of the qualifiers.

"In football nothing is impossible, although Ghana is an African potency. We will try to win and in the final we can smile", said the Angolan coach adding that "the big also lose,” André Nzuzi said.

Ghana would be seeking to make her debut in the women’s competition at the Olympic Games after narrowly missing out for the 2004 Athens Games.

Africa has a single slot for the Olympic Games and the 16 nations competing in the qualifiers this weekend are seeking to pick the sole ticket.

Aside the single slot for Africa, the runners-up from the CONCACAF and CAF qualifiers would be compete in a one-off decider for a place in the Olympic competition.

The other fixtures for the qualifying rounds are Liberia-Ethiopia, Guinea-Zimbabwe, Eritrea-Morocco, Equatorial Guinea-South Africa, Namibia-DR Congo and Mozambique-Algeria.

Nigeria have secured qualification to the next round after their opponents, Senegal pulled out of the return leg.
