The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Ghanaian match officials to handle this weekend’s GHANA 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifier match between Gambia and Guinea.

A statement released on the official website of the continent’s soccer controlling body named the centre referee as Alex Neequaye Kotey, with Haruna Ayuba and George Kojo Saijah as the assistants.

Gambian Touray Suleyman will serve as the fourth referee whilst Boughourbal Abdel Aziz, from Mauritania will be the Match Commissioner.

Information gathered by the GNA Sports has it that the Ghanaian trio are expected to leave for Banjul on Thursday, for the game scheduled for Sunday.

Their appointment comes barely a week after a Ghanaian referee handled last Sunday’s CAF Champions League second round second leg encounter involving Congolese side Etoile du Congo and St. George of Ethiopia in Brazzaville.
