Ghana has moved up nine places to occupy the 19th position in the world in the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday.

On the African front however, Ghana is back in second position after Cameroon, who are 14th in the world.

Neighbours Ivory Coast follows Ghana closely at 20 and third on the continent, while Africa’s fourth best, Nigeria, is a distant 32 in the global race with North African power blocks Morocco and Egypt at 35th and 39th respectively.

World Champions Italy leads the pack on the global challenge, maintaining their number one position from the previous ranking, followed by France, Brazil, Germany and Argentina in that order.

Portugal, Spain, England, Netherlands and the Czech Republic complete the table for the best 10 teams in the world.
