Ghana’s male Olympic team will be taking inspiration from the Black Princesses opening day win at the 9th All Africa Games when they line up against Cameroon.

The Black Meteors would be up against the reigning champions who are looking for a third successive title at the African champions in the Group A opener at the Boumerdes on Tuesday.

Ghana, bronze medalists and tipped as one of the competition’s favourites are expected to pose a real challenge to the Cameroonians.

Cameroon who enter the competition in high hopes after winning an eight-nation tourney in South Africa face a Ghanaian side driven by the experience of coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio.

The Black Meteors technical handler has reinforced his midfield with Francis Bossman and the premiership’s best player, Kweku Essien.

Aside the presence of the two senior members in the squad dominated largely by local talent, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio also has Prince Tagoe to lead Ghana’s attack.

South Africa, who performed rather poorly at the pre-tournament eight-nation competition which they hosted take on Tunisia in the other Group A game.

The 9th All Africa Games kicked off on Monday with Ghana posting a hard-fought 2-1 win in the women’s football competition over host nation, Algeria.

The Games, which represent Africa’s version of the Olympic Games draw lots of countries to participate in a host of sporting events and is being hosted by Algeria for the second time after 1978.
