GFA to organize course for coaches

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is to organize a reclassification course for 30 selected coaches as part of efforts to resuscitate and revamp the Coaches of Association of Ghana in line with the directives of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The 15-day course is scheduled for Thursday, July 26 to Thursday, August 9 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

A statement signed by Mr George Dasoberi, Co-ordinator of the Programme copied to the GNA Sports said that participants will be taken through written and practical examinations by experts from Ghana and CAF for the award of a professional coaching license “C” to the successful members.

Mr Dasoberi said the GFA will bear one third (1/3rd) of the full cost for the course with the participants expected to pay a cost sharing fee of 60 Ghana cedis (600,000 cedis) to the Accountant of the GFA not later than Friday, July 20.

The participants for the three-week programme are made up of Dramani Masud-Didi and Nassam Yakubu (Northern Region), Ibrahim Mohammed and Osman Alhassan (Upper West Region), Issaka Anas Abdulai and Peter Abilba (Upper East Region) and Kwasi Owusu, Kwame Opuni and Jones B. Awuah from the Brong Ahafo Region.

The rest are Isaac Asare Lartey, Kweku Prempeh and Evans Adotey (Ashanti Region), Christopher Tsomafo, Salia Salem Zigah and Dickson W. Akotia (Volta Region), Jojo Ampah, Kofi Kwaw Amuah, Alhaji Tahiru Yussif, Abubakar Yussif and J.A. Norman (Central Region) and Kofi Abdallah, Kingsley Eben Sagoe and P.S.K. Paha (Western Region).

The others are Edward Ansah, Anue Mensah and Hesse Odamettey (Greater Accra Region), Abdul Aziz Mohammed and Nti Behene Bonsu (Eastern Region) and Stephen Abugri from Tema.
