Tema Open Golf tees off Sept. 1

Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday,
1st September to Sunday, September 2nd.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Tema Country
Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Sunday, said the two-day
36-Hole Scratch competition, which is open to amateur and
professional golfers throughout the country, is to be sponsored by
Millicom Ghana Limited.

He said the competition, which is expected to attract over 170
participants would be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf
Association and the local rules of the Tema Golf Club,

Mr Adablanu said management of the club is putting up adequate
measures to ensure that golfers have a very good competition. He
said some of the golfers expected to be seen in action include captain
Joe Ohemeng, Theophilus Asampong, Abdul Aziz Amankwa and Joe
Ampofo all of Celebrity Golf Club.

Achimota Golf Club, which would be led by their President, Mike
Ezan would include Michael Aggrey, Bob Evans, Charles Tabi and Paul
List.

William Asiedu Yeboah would lead the Tema team made up of Felix
Owusu-Adjapong, Alex Fiagomey and Florence Etwi-Barimah in the
Ladies section.

The Professionals would engage each other in a 72-Hole event
beginning from Wednesday, August 29.

Paulo Nukunu will be defending the trophy he won last year.

Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and
Sports would be the Special Guest of Honour.
