SSNIT Transport/Records win games

The combined team of transport and records department of the Tema and Accra branches of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), defeated the Head Office of the Trust 3-1 on penalties in a football match to win the first fun games held at the St. Bernadette Soubirous School, at Dansoman, Accra on Saturday.

The match, which was characterized by a lot of fire works, saw both teams making incursions into their opponent's vital area but could not find the net till full time.

Before reaching the finals, the Head Office team defeated the Accra Area SSNIT by 2-0 while Transport and Records edged out Tema Area SSNIT 1-0.

Transport and Records also won the draught and playing cards competition and the Head Office also won the men's tug-of-war competition.

Table tennis, sack race and lime and spoon events were won by Accra Area SSNIT while the scrabble game was won by Tema Area SSNIT.

Mr Kwesi Osei, Director-General of SSNIT, was assisted by Miss Ivy Amegashie, Deputy Head, Public Affairs, to present trophies to the winners.

Miss Amegashie said the games were organised to enable the staff of SSNIT to socialize with each other to ensure good working relationship.

She called on the staff to take active interest in physical education and sports to enable them remain healthy at all times.
