Mr Obeng-Sarpong said that about 1,000 of them were short-listed for an interview which took place at the Regional Coordinating Council's Hall in Kumasi on October, 23 and 24 this month.

He said the Committee hopes to in all recruit over 400 people to serve as volunteers at the various areas for the programme.

The Office Manager indicated that the volunteers would serve among other areas as communicators, media and accreditation assistants, magnetometer attendants, information kiosks attendants, queue busters, ushers as well as VIP and welcome party attendants.

Others, he said, would include runners, medical assistants, field play attendants, main and stadium medical supporters, translators and parking assistants.

Mr Obeng-Sarpong said the event was an opportunity for all Ghanaians to actively participate in the history-making event of the country.
