The Local Organising Committee has revised the GH¢10 per match gate fees proposed for the popular stands during the Ghana 2008 Cup of Nations tournament.

Instead of the GH¢10, visitors to the popular stands will pay GH¢8 (¢80,000) for two matches during the group stages of the tournament, which runs between January 20 - February 10.

From the Quarter final stage to the final, GH¢8 will only afford fans at the stand the right to one match, while all other prices, including a GH¢200 for the VIP stand.

Initially, seats behind the goal posts and the popular stands were to go for GH¢10 (¢100,000) while those in the middle minus corporate boxes were to attract a rate of GH¢20 (¢200,000).

Seats for the VIP Wings were to go for GH¢100 (¢1,000,000) with the VIP Section going for GH¢200 (¢2,000,000).

There was public uproar at the announcement of the fees, with many claiming it would price too many good fans out of the tournament. The LOC then explained that the announced fees were only a proposal.

There was no word on the other category of prices.
