Kotey gets CAN 2008 referees call

FIFA referee, Alex Kotey has been named as one of the match officials for next months African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ghana in four major cities.

The Accra-based referee, who was voted the best referee in last season’s domestic league is one of the 16 central referees named for the Nations Cup tournament.

Alex Kotey is the only Ghanaian match official selected for the competition.

Tournament organizers, the Confederation of African Football – CAF, has called up 32 match officials for the competition which starts on January 20 and runs till February 10.

Two referees from the Asian region have also been included in the list.
