Trashy Bags Company Limited on Saturday donated 40 sports bags worth 4,000 Ghana Cedis to the national senior soccer team, the Black Stars, in Accra.

Mr Kwame Osei-Bonsu, Chief Executive of the company, who made the presentation, said the bags were made from re-cycled plastic wastes collected from the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium during the opening ceremony of Ghana 2008.

He said the company as part of its corporate and social responsibility, embarked on the exercise of cleaning the various stadiums to ensure environmental cleanliness.

Mr Osei-Bonsu said it also formed part of their sensitization programme of creating awareness on the need, to observe environmental cleanliness.

He said plastic waste that would be collected at the Baba Yara, Sekondi and Tamale Stadia would be recycled and turned into bags for donation to needy institutions.

Mr Osei-bonsu said the company would honour players, who would excel at the Ghana 2008 tournament.

Skipper John Mensah, who received the items on behalf of the Black Stars, thanked the company for the gesture and expressed the hope that the items would motivate the players to win the tournament.
