Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac says he is confident in the Black Stars as he prepares for his first competitive game.

He was also excited by the news of his former side, FK Borac's qualification to the group stage of the UEFA Cup on Tuesday.

The Black Stars coach is expected to name his first Black Stars squad this week as he looks up to the challenge of leading Ghana in a very competitive game.

Having watched the Black Stars pull an important draw in the international friendly played last week against Tanzania, Milovan declared himself satisfied with the output of his inherited team.

“I was very, very satisfied with the performance of every player. Even without players like Essien, Mensah and Muntari, who are big players, the rest played for the nation.

“I liked the spirit of the team and we have a big group that we can make selections from. It was important for me to see them play,” he said when asked about his opinion on the friendly game.

And as the coach looks up to the next Ghana challenge, he says events back home in Serbia has really lifted him after hearing news of the progress made miles away by his former team, FK Borac in the UEFA Cup competition.

His last club before taking up the Ghana appointment managed to come from a goal down in Bulgaria to complete an aggregate victory over PFC Lokomotiv Sofia and reach the UEFA Cup first round.

Milovan Rajevac guided them to an emotional 1-0 victory in the first leg.

“That is good news. I am happy because the work we started is still going on well. The team has done a lot within this short time. I like the character of the team.”
