Ghana Telecom will extend its mobile communication network and other facilities such as Internet to the Hohoe South constituency by next year.

Other network providers, including Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo, Kasapa Telecom Limited, operators of Kasapa, and Mobile Telecommunication Network, operators of MTN, are also set to improve and extend their services to the area.

Dr Ben Aggrey-Ntim, Minister of Communications, said this in Parliament in response to a question on plans to extend telecommunication facilities to the Hohoe South Constituency to enable schools and security agencies have access to Information, Communication and Technology.

He said industry regulator National Communications Authority (NCA) had been directed by the Ministry to ensure quality by monitoring services and applying the appropriate sanctions.

He said starting from next year, results of the monitoring shall be published to users, following the acquisition of quality monitoring devices for the NCA.

Dr Aggrey-Ntim said NCA was also expected to raise quality standards to reflect technological improvements and sophistication of the industry, adding that operators would be given stipulated time to rectify deficiencies.
