Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations on Saturday said the country might not be able to attract the set target of one million tourists for 2007. However, he said the Ministry was sure of generating 1.5 billion dollars revenue target from tourism set for this year.

Mr Obetsebi Lamptey made this known during the Annual get-together and fun games for stakeholders in the tourism industry at Aburi. He mentioned the Joseph Project, which would bring people affected by slavery into the country, especially those from the Diaspora on Ghana's 50th Anniversary, the Emancipation and PANAFEST celebrations as some of the programmes which could help generate revenue for this year.

He called on the stakeholders to discharge their duties professionally in order to meet the challenges for the year. The fun games brought participants from the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Ghana Tourists Board (GTB), Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) and the Hotel Catering and Tourism Training Institute (HOTCATT).

They participated in activities such as soccer, tug of war, playing cards, draft, table tennis and dancing competition. The GTB emerged as overall winners of the competition.
