About 100 golfers are expected to converge at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra to compete for this month's Medal Open Championship scheduled for Saturday, May 16.Mr Kwabena Oteng-0Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Tuesday that five Banks and two schools have been invited to participate in the event.He said the participation of the Banks and the schools forms part of the activities lined up to mark the 75th anniversary of the Club.Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the participating Banks are the Ghana Commercial Bank, Ecobank Ghana Limited, Zenith Bank Ghana Limited, Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, Barclays Bank Ghana Limited and the Achimota Senior High School and Presbyterian Boys Senior High School.The General Manager said series of seminars would be held for the participants to enable them acquire more knowledge about the game.Some of the golfers who would be taking part in the one day 18-Hole Stable-ford event include Michael Aggrey, Geoff Fisher, Nick Smallman, Charles Tabi, Michael Ben-George and Matthias Dorfe.Ama Morgan, Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Margaret Owusu-Baah, Grace Afriyie and Mary Asafo-Adjaye are also expected to battle each other in the Ladies segment.The competition is being sponsored by The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited.Source: GNA
