All is set for the Open Medal championship of the Celebrity Golf Club scheduled for Sakumono, near Tema on Friday, December 5.
Mr Ato Endmann, General Manager of the Celebrity Golf Club, who announced this at Tema on Tuesday, said about 100 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition which is open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region.
He said the competition, which would be the last medal competition to be played in 2008, would be sponsored by the Club.
It has Handicap 18 as the entry requirement for the Men while the Ladies would be expected to be playing with Handicap 24.
Among an array of golfers expected in the monthly-organized event are Akwasi Opoku, Joe Ohemeng, Joe Ampofo, Abdul-Aziz Amankwah and Alex Acheampong, all of the Celebrity Golf Club.
The Tema team, which would be led by their captain William Asiedu Yeboah, would include Florence Etwi-Barimah, Grace Afriyie and Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong.
There would be prizes for the ‘Longest Drive on Hole 18’ and the ‘Nearest to the pin on Hole 17’
