Africa ICT Right (AIR), a leading EdTech nonprofit organization committed to advancing ICT and digital literacy across Ghana, has successfully concluded a 3-day intensive STEM workshop for 24 STEM coordinators out of the 29 coordinators within the Greater Accra Region.
The workshop took place from Wednesday, July 23 to Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Accra STEM Academy, East Legon.
The training brought together STEM coordinators from various districts to equip them with hands-on experience in Arduino (IoT), AI, Robotics, 3D Design & Printing, Virtual Reality (VR), and Coding.
The aim was to enhance their capacity to drive innovative STEM education in their respective schools and districts.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Daniel Kwaku Ganyoame, Executive Director of AIR, emphasized the importance of empowering educators as a strategy to transform Ghana’s education landscape.
“When we invest in training STEM coordinators, we’re investing in the future of Ghanaian students,” Mr. Ganyoame stated.
“This workshop is not just about technology—it’s about equipping teachers with the confidence and tools to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation in their classrooms.”

The workshop featured engaging sessions that blended theory with practice. Participants learned to build and code Arduino-based devices, explored immersive learning through VR applications, and assembled basic robotic systems. Sessions were led by AIR’s experienced technical trainers who guided participants through real-world problem-solving activities.
Many attendees praised the program for its relevance and interactivity.
Mrs. Sarah Boamah, a representative of the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, described the training as both insightful and impactful, stressing the need for regular sessions of this nature.
Mrs. Beatty Boah, the Regional STMIE coordinator, thanked Africa ICT Right for organizing the workshop, as well as the STEM coordinators for their full participation in the workshop.
“This kind of training is exactly what our educators need to stay relevant and effective in today’s digital world. It was hands-on, practical, and highly engaging. I strongly recommend that such workshops be held periodically to build momentum and ensure continuous learning among STEM coordinators,” she said.
The event underscores Africa ICT Right’s broader mission to support the Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education in modernizing teaching methodologies and promoting STEM education at all levels. By empowering educators, AIR continues to play a vital role in preparing the next generation of Ghanaian students for a tech-driven future.
Looking ahead, AIR plans to extend similar training programs to other regions, especially targeting underserved and rural schools.
