Eleven pupils of the Keta Zion School have been injured after the roof of their classroom collapsed during a heavy down pour on Wednesday. This was confirmed by the DCE of Keta Sylvester Tornyeva in an interview with Joy FM’s Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah on Thursday. The injured were rushed to the nearest district hospital in the region, he said. Sylvester Tornyeva described the extent of destruction in the municipality as “massive” and said the District National Disaster Management Organisation(NADMO) will be meeting today to devise ways of getting a place to accommodate the pupils for classes. According to him the Keta State School also had its own share of destruction with one of the pupils sustaining minor injuries. Ten of the injured have since been discharged.
