An NDC group calling itself the 64 Bench numbering about 1,500 in the Tamale Central Constituency are threatening to quit the party if the party’s chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei honours an invitation by the police over his judicial cleansing comments. The group at a press conference addressed by its Public Relations Officer, Alhassan Abubakari in Tamale Thursday said they fully support the party chairman's comments and that any move to honour the police invitation will warrant their resignation from the NDC.Dr Kwabena Adjei on August 17 at a press conference attributed the strings of losses suffered by the Attorney General to what he said were bias judgements handed by the courts. He therefore called on the Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood to weed out what he termed as corrupt and politically bias judges form the judiciary or the NDC will cleanse it.His comments received sharp criticisms from several circles with the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) logging a complaint with the police and calling for the arrest and subsequent prosecution of the NDC Chairman. The group also used the press conference to call on President John Evans Atta Mills to fast-track the signing of the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority bill into law. This, they said will help bridge the development gap between the Northern and Southern Ghana.Story Ernest Dela Aglanu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
