The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has assured the 2022-2027 Multi Year Tariff, will be transparent, inclusive and participatory.
This assurance comes as the commission begins a broader stakeholder consultation process that will lead to the five-year multi-Tariff for all utilities in the country.
Speaking at a consultative engagement with Development partners including the World Bank, held at Marriott Hotel on Tuesday May 10, 2022, the Director of Legal Affairs for the PURC, Nancy Atiemo, acting on behalf of the Executive Secretary indicated that "this year's tariff determination process would be more transparent, inclusive and participatory".
The PURC has since engaged the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation (MWRS), and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Works and Housing.
The Commission said it is poised to engage other stakeholders including the media, civil society and the general public in this year's tariff determination process.
