Janet Asana Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP) has expressed her sadness over her disqualification by the Electoral Commission (EC) from participating in this year’s presidential election.

According to her, the various policies she has proposed for the nation could have helped bridge the gaps in Ghana’s economy and contributed to the country's development.

Speaking to Myjoyonline.com as the country counts down to the polls on December 7, the disappointed flagbearer stated that she does not support either of the two major parties, the NDC or the NPP, but has thrown her weight behind the Convention People’s Party (CPP)’s Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah.

The politician, who also runs a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Jana Foundation which focuses on women’s empowerment, urged the public to vote for the CPP's candidate and all female parliamentary candidates standing in the election.

She also accused the NPP and NDC of “using” her ideas, adding that these parties may not be able to implement the policies if given the opportunity to govern the country.

Ms Nabla further lamented her exclusion from the race, attributing it to the under-representation of women in leadership roles.

She is among some 11 presidential aspirants that the EC has disqualified from the race over errors in filling their forms and inability to meet some other requirements.

She broke away from the People's National Convention (PNC) to form the PNP due to some internal disagreements.
