Two hundred and four schools from the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western and Northern regions will be competing for the ultimate prize in the 2022 edition of the Junior Science and Maths Quiz.
This year’s competition is scheduled to begin on the 14th of November 2022.
The Junior Science and Maths Quiz is a competition spearheaded by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in collaboration with ERIDEC Gh. Ltd.
The competition seeks to promote the study of Science, Maths and Technology among Junior High Schools in the country.
The last edition of the competition saw thirty-six participants from the Ashanti region.

The goal of the competition is to cover the entire country over the next two to three years.

Prof. Rexford Asaase, the representative of the Vice Chancellor at the launch of the quiz emphasized the importance of maths and science in the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
“This is being done at a time when we are promoting sustainable development goals.
“And if you go through the sustainable development goals you will realize that maths and science play an important role,” he said
The Board Chairman of the Junior Science and Maths quiz, Prof. Kwasi Preko noted the essence of developing the scientific and technological skills of students at an early stage.
“Ladies and gentlemen, scientific and technological skills must be learnt gradually. It takes a long time to learn these skills.
“So, it is good that you take the children from the cradle, infancy and basic school as you are. That is why you are here to be trained in science,” he said
