A-21-year-old man faces a-twelve-month-jail term if he fails to pay a fine of six hundred Ghana cedis imposed on him today by a Jomoro District court in the Western Region.
Abdul Fatawu, was caught in the act of having sex with a sheep in an uncompleted church building in the Jomora area by Pastor Joel Bedding of the Church of Pentecost and was handed over to the police.
The accused person was charged on two counts of being on the premises for unlawful purposes and having an unnatural carnal knowledge with an animal.
He pleaded guilty on all two counts when he was arraigned before the Jomoro District court and sentenced on his own plea to a fine of 600 Ghana cedis on each count to run concurrently and in default serve a-12- month jail term in hard labour.
The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent John Ferguson Dzineku, who led the prosecution told JOY NEWS that Mr. Fatawu who is still in police custody would have to pay the fine or go to jail.
According to him Fatawu was caught in the act with visible evidence available, noting that the convict had not been able to pay the fine and would possibly be sent to the Sekondi prisons if he was unable to pay the fine imposed on him by the court.
