The boy later resurfaced in the community later to recount his ordeal to relatives. The suspect was, however, arrested on Tuesday after a complaint was lodged with the Manhyia Divisional DOVVSU.
The victim’s shocked uncle told Nhyira FM in Kumasi in an interview that the suspect also gave the victim an engagement ring.
"We searched house to house, room to room in this area. We went around the school all afternoon but to no avail. So we decided to make a report to police at about 9 p.m. Whilst at the police station, I had a call from my nephew the boy had come home. The CID officer asked us to bring him to the police station.
”Imagine a 12-year old boy engaged to a man," the worried Uncle said.
