Four Banks listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange recorded some good earnings in the half year.
The bank’s HFC, SG-SSB, GCB and Ecobank’s parent company, ETI saw their revenues increase substantially in their financials ending June 30.
HFC bank’s profits shot up by 37 percent to 7.8 million Ghana cedis. SG-SSB also recorded a 14 percent growth in profits to hit 12.2 million Ghana cedis.
The country’s biggest bank, GCB also saw its profit shoot up by 46 percent for the half year.
The bank made some marginal gains from its interest earning business but loans that the bank fears might go bad went up by 82 percent.
Though ETI saw over 51 percent growth in most areas of business, profits dip marginally to 86 million dollars.
