The body of a 45-year old man has been found in a lagoon at Tsiame near Abor in the Volta region.
Police in the area say the deceased had been missing since last Saturday.
Joy News' Ivy Sertordji quoted the Assembly man of the area, Nana Ayivor as saying he was informed that a dead body had been found in the lagoon.
According to the Abor Police Commander, ASP Jude Kobina, he recieved a call from the assembly man informing him of the incident. Upon reaching the scene, he said, the body of the 45-year-old was found "in a supine position".
"We mobilised the community to bring the body to the shore and then we did the necessary crime scene investigations we are supposed to conduct and then carry the body to the hospital..."
ASP Kobina said the family of the deceased went to the hospital to identify him as Kwabena Kugbe. They said he had been missing for about three days.
The Police Officer however wondered why the relatives did not inform the police about Kwabena's disappearance but assured investigations are being conducted to establish the truth surrounding his death.
