According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), its Rescue Team from the Central Regional Headquarters was dispatched to the scene at 2:45 p.m. and arrived 14 minutes later. On arrival, the team found several victims trapped in the mangled vehicle.

Fire officers managed to extricate five victims, four of whom were later pronounced dead at the hospital. One critically injured victim is currently receiving treatment.
