Five persons have died while ten others are seriously injured in a lorry accident on the Tamale-Yapei road in the Northern Region.
The dead have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue while the injured are receiving treatment.
An eyewitness on the scene told RadioXYZonline.com that the the death toll could rise as some of the injured are in critical conditions.
But speaking to RadioXYZonline.com, the Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Gabriel Nii Otu Ankrah said the accident occurred when a Neoplan Bus bound for Bolga collided with a tipper truck on the Tamale-Yapei road at a village called Datoyeli.
He revealed that two of the deceased were women while the rest were men. The injured are said to be responding to treatment.
The police have also identified two corpses: a woman and a man. The Police MTTU are yet to conduct a full scale investigation into the accident.
