Fifty pupils of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School at Ayeduase in the Ashanti region have received a backpack filled with supplies from The Gaudete Institute (TGI).
A delegation from The Gaudete Institute (TGI), comprising the Board Chairman Dr. Simon Dankyi, Prof. Marian Asantewah Nkansah, the Executive Director, and Ms. Patricia Nkansah, the Executive Secretary joined by two volunteers, presented the items to the pupils.
The donations forms part of TGI’s one child one backpack (TOCOB) project.
The pupils were encouraged to study hard and stay in school.
The local manager and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Opoku, who assisted in the distribution of backpacks, offered prayers and thanked TGI for the kind gesture.
The Gaudete Institute, an NGO established in 2016 is focused on serving the needs of the under-served.
TGI seeks to reach a target of 1,000 school children each year.
“Though all children in Ghana continue to enjoy free basic education, every school year, many children in deprived communities with parents on the lower side of the economic scale, lack basics such as school bags for carrying all their study materials, and basic supplies such a books, pencils, erasers and sharpeners.
“They continue to enjoy the benevolence of their patrons and sponsors,” said Prof. Marian Asantewah Nkansah.
"God bless the donors and the management of the Gaudete Institute,” said Jonathan Kwadwo Annan, the School Prefect.
