The 1994 Year Group of the Saint John`s Senior High School in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region has commissioned a walkway for the school.

The walkway is to address the perennial problem of classrooms being cut off from dormitories and other parts of the campus any time it rained.

At the commissioning, the group called on all past students to build on the ideas, principles and visions of the founders to maintain its enviable status.

According to them, the walkway will connect the main campus of the school to another part of the school known as Cambodia which is usually cut off whenever it rained.

Joy News’ Western Region correspondent Ina Thalia reported that because of the absence of a walkway, students and teachers are unable to visit classrooms for academic work, especially during the rainy seasons.

The gesture was in fulfillment of a promise by the old students to contribute towards building a legacy project in their alma mater.

The group also held an awards night to recognize the contribution of retired teachers who taught them during their stay at St John`s School.

National President of the Old Saint Dr. Henry Beyah seized the opportunity to advise other year groups to follow their example.

The headmaster of St John’s Senior High School, Anthony Jonathan Mensah encouraged other year groups to emulate the gesture of the 1994 Year Group to contribute to the development of the school.
