The Upper West Region Minister, Ephraim Avea Nsoh has appealed to Muslims in the region to continue praying for peace in the country so that President John Mahama will be able to deliver his campaign promise for the people.
Dr. Avea Nsoh said it is incumbent on all in the country to bury their political and religious differences and work together to alleviate the poverty the people in the region are wallowing in.
He made the appeal at the Wa Central Mosque when he paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Muslim Ummah after the Friday prayers.
"We are all Ghanaians, we all come from the north; We all have black skins and we all eat the same food. What it means is that we are the same. It doesn’t matter whether you are Christian, Muslim or Traditionalist. God is one and the same thing and in Ghana we are one and the same people, under one president and regional minister,’’ he added.
Dr. Avea Nsoh said he was grateful that the Muslim chiefs over the years have prayed for the nation and hoped that with the support and blessing he will be able to make life comfortable for the people in the region.
He asked them to continue praying for president Mahama and his team of ministers.
The imam of the Central Mosque, Dr. Suleiman Mohammed thanked the regional minister for the visit and promised to work for the success of the nation.
He was accompanied to the Central Mosque by the deputy Upper West Region Minister, Abu Kabienbata Kansangabata and some officials of the Upper West Region Coordinating Council.
