This year’s Close-Up Salsa Fiesta Season 3 promises to be very exciting and highly competitive.
This year, salsa dancers auditioned to be part of the couples’ competition while those who wanted to learn salsa had to buy three units of close-up to win free salsa lessons. They then got the chance to compete in the groups competition at the grand finale.
The participating couples were chosen during an audition held at the Aviation Social Centre on April 6, 2013, where salsa lovers from Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi came out in their numbers to display their skills.
The judges, for the auditions, Naomi Nelson and James Swanzy Parker both experienced Salsa and Ball room dancing; were very happy with the turn out.
After an exciting day of auditions by couples from Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi, 11 couples who wowed the judges were selected to participate in an 8-week TV series leading up to the grand finale.
At the grand finale, only six couples will move on to vie for the title of Best Salsa Couple in Ghana and also win part of the GHc18,000 cash prize at stake.
The successful couples who made into the competition are as follows; Bernard Korsah and Rita (Accra), Theodore Dabadji and Rosemary Eshun (Takoradi), Essence Kobby and Martha Okai (Accra), Tina Mensah and Kalala Obodai (Accra), Wallace and Ketura (Accra), Esther and Daniel (Tema).
The rest are, mFianyo Eyram Ernestina and Derrick Aboagye (Kumasi), Joyce Akoto and Henry Odoi ( Kumasi), Juliana Kelvinta and Dickson R.K.A. Amwbleh (Accra), Megan Mensah and Lumya Laryea (Accra), Pascaline Inkoom and Noah Doe (Accra).
For the next couple of weeks, Close-Up Salsa Fiesta Season 3 will light up television screens by bringing viewers the best of reality dance.
Viewers can catch the series this and every Sunday on GH-One at 6:00pm and Metro TV at 7:30pm.
There will be weekly evictions shows, where couples with the least votes will be evicted. To vote for your favourite contestants and keep them in the competition, go to: www.closeupghana/facebook.and follow instructions.
The top 10 weekly voters will win fantastic souvenirs from Close-Up.
