Rlg Foundation, the social investment platform to drive the Corporate Social Responsibility activities of Rlg Communications Limited, has handed over a Nissan double cabin pick-up worth GHC 28,000 to the local Roman Catholic Mission at Sirigu in the Upper East Region.The new vehicle replaces the only vehicle which broke down some time ago. It is intended to aid the operational administration of the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Mission.The Foundation also presented quantity of items worth hundreds of Cedis to the Mother of Mercy Babies Homes, otherwise known as the Sirigu Orphanage. The items included cartons of provisions, several bags of rice and toiletries.The gesture was in commemoration of the 39th birthday of the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RLG Communications Limited, Mr. Roland Agambire who also hails from the town.The Martyrs of Uganda Church was also assisted towards the purchase of Pews.Making the presentation, Group Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs of AGAMS Holdings, Prosper Harrison-Addo recalled how Mr Agambire adopted the Home almost three years ago following media report on the poor state of affairs on a radio station in Accra and has since made monthly contributions to the home.While pledging continued support for the Home, Mr Addo who is also the Executive Secretary to the Group Chairman of AGAMS Holdings hoped the modest gesture would help transform lives.Receiving the items, Rev. Father Paul Kapochina, Parish Priest of Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church in Sirigu thanked the Rlg Foundation for the kind gesture and his continuous support to the home. He was particularly grateful to Mr Agambire for the presentation of the vehicle which he said will go a long way to alleviate the plight of the local mission and the Home. .Rev. Sister Innocentia Debpuur, Officer-In-Charge of the Home, presented birthday gifts to Mr. Agambire which was received by Mr. Prosper Harrison-Addo amidst the singing of special composed songs for their benefactor.The Foundation also commissioned three boreholes for the use by the Sirigu Community.Present at the ceremony was Malcolm Frazier, Rlg Foundation Manager.The Rlg Foundation was launched two years ago with the aim of driving the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives of Rlg Communications Ltd, the foremost ICT device assembler in sub-sahara Africa.
