Ghanaian doctors have called off their one month old strike.
The decision was announced at a press conference a while ago.
A statement released shortly after the conference directed "The doctors to fully restore their services with effective May 8, 2013."
The doctors embarked on the strike following disagreements on the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure.
Among other things, the doctors were negotiating for a better market premium, pensions and the payment of arrears.
Government also agreed to make payments but in three installments. However there was standoff between government and the doctors which led to the continuation of the strike.
At the press conference on Tuesday, President of the Ghana Medical Association Dr Kwabena Adusei Opoku told Joy News' Anny Osabutey they have called off the strike following the intervention by the National Labour Commission.
He says the government has at least one month to implement the directives spelt out by the NLC.
