Guests of the hotel said they heard gunshots but did not come out of their rooms.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional police command has arrested one person in connection with the shooting incident which occurred in the early hours of Monday.
According to a cook at the hotel, several expatriates had visited the area at the weekend, and thus believed the robbers had besieged the hotel to rob them.
Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Tanko in an interview with Citi News said the suspect was arrested in the early hours of Monday.
Several rounds of live cartridges were found on him after a thorough search.
It is reported that because the suspect was pursued for a long time before he was arrested, he may have managed to throw the weapon somewhere.

The victim was shot in the chest and hacked with machetes after he attempted to foil a robbery attack, reports say.
Residents of the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, have been living in fear, following the spate of violent gun attacks and gang-style killings that have led to the killing of seven people in less two weeks.
In the previous incident, five armed men stormed a pub in Dichemso in Kumasi and shot Prince Opoku Antoh, nephew of NPP regional Chairman F.F. Antoh.
Police are blaming the gang-style killings in Kumasi on the manufacturing of weapons there.
