Energy Bank, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has launched an internship programme aimed at enabling students to gain practical experience of a working environment.
The programme also seeks to get some prospective staff of the bank to be well acquainted with Energy bank’s culture and also provide them with the knowledge and skill needed to succeed in this fast paced world.
Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director, Sam Ayininuola disclosed that the programme would create internship opportunities to over fifty university graduates during the year.
He further stated that the programme offered career opportunities for graduate students to be integrated into the bank after a period of one year. “As a bank we take this initiative very seriously as it would help alleviate the high graduate unemployment rate in the country” he stated.
The Executive Director of the bank, Ms Ophelia Attobrah also explained that the initiative reflects the bank’s sense of responsibility to help promising Ghanaians to become business leaders in their field of interest and bring out the best in them.
She further stated that there are a lot of qualified, capable young people out they and they deserve to be given a chance to explore their potential.
She added "education is a priority for Energy Bank because it is the key to economic development. The bank is therefore constantly exploring ways of contributing to the development of the country’s educational sector".
