This year’s Basic Examination Certificate Examination (BECE), which ended on Monday, has been described as generally peaceful.
Mr. Samuel A. Kevi, a Supervisor at the Sacred Heart School Examination Centre at Jamestown told the Ghana News Agency that the atmosphere at most centres throughout the period was calm and peaceful as the pupils comported themselves very well.
He added there was no incident of examination practice.
He said his centre hosted six schools with a total population of 374 with 3 absentees. The schools were Derby Avenue R/C Junior High School (JHS), Alko International School, Ayalolo 1 JHS, Amamomo JHS, John Wesley Methodist JHS and Accra Royal JHS.
Mr. Kevi also commended WAEC for the timely delivery of examination materials, saying “the materials also arrived on time and we did not encounter any problem”.
Master Jacob Ohene Amoako of Accra Royal JHS expressed his joy about the conduct of the examination and hoped to come out with flying colours to be able to enter the Senior High School of his choice.
Other invigilators also affirmed the peaceful nature of the 2013 BECE and commended the pupils, teachers and parents for adhering to the rules and conduct of the examination.
