The Lands Commission says it has taken delivery of 10 brand new Nissan Pick Up vehicles valued US$ 295,340.00 from the Land Administration Project (LAP2). The vehicles are to facilitate field work and enhance the effective and efficient implementation of the reforms and restructuring at the Commission under the Land Administration Project (LAP2). Receiving the vehicles, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Dr. Wilfred K. Odame-Anim said a greater part of the Commission’s work were field related and expressed joy that the vehicles had come at an opportune time since most of the regional offices of the Commission were in serious need of vehicles to enhance their field operations. Dr. Odame-Anim expressed delight about the gesture and said the vehicles would go a long way in promoting and aiding the activities and reforms at the Lands Commission. “Most of our regional offices are under resourced and these vehicles will improve the quality and pace of our service delivery to our clients in the regions,” Dr. Odame-Anim emphasized. Aside vehicular constraints, Dr. Odame-Anim explained that the Commission was also constrained in the area office equipment like; computers, printers and scanners. In view of that, he said the Commission would use part of its retained Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to procure these essential logistics to improve its service delivery to the public as well as generate more revenue for the Government. The vehicles were part of 20 brand new Nissan Pick Up vehicles the Land Administration Project (LAP2) presented to five Project Implementing Agencies under the project. The Land Administration Project (LAP2) is largely funded by the World Bank and other development partners with counterpart funding from the Government of Ghana.
