Four institutions, including the Ghana Police Service, are to appear before the Judgment Debt Commission today Monday July 29 and Tuesday July 30.
The rest are the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and the Customs Excise and Preventive Service of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
A statement signed by Mr George William Dove, Public Relations Officer of the Commission said the representatives of each institution had been invited to appear before the Commission to assist in its work.
“However, they are also informed that they are at liberty to appear with their lawyers.
The Commission reminded the general public that Public sittings would be held at 1000 hours each day.
“Members of the public, who wish to testify or volunteer information, are first to report at the Commission’s office to give their statements. The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence,” the statement said.
It said all those who intended to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but were unable to be there in person were requested to submit a "emoranda to the Commission-which would be treated confidentially.
The Commission of Inquiry was established by President John Mahama under the Sole Commissioner Mr Justice Yaw Appau to inquire into Judgment Debts payments and other related matters.
