Some police personnel in Kumasi are blaming staff at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for the death of a colleague who was knocked down by a vehicle.Constable Alex Parry Elias was hit by an articulated truck whilst on duty early Thursday at Odiom, in Kumasi. He was rushed to KNUST Hospital, and later to Komfo Anokye Hospital. His colleagues are accusing the night staff of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for not attending to their colleague on arrival.According to one of the police personnel, who narrated the incident to Joy News, the staff did not want to attend to the victim because they claimed they had no beds. The police then suggested they attend to the constable in the car but they refused. It took the hospital 40 minutes to get a bed but it was too late. The constable had passed away.He added that their colleague was alive when they got to the hospital and was even talking to the other policemen. But hospital authorities say the police officer had passed on before he was brought to the hospital.
