Tigo Ghana has donated a cheque of GHC2,000 and some assorted Tigo souvenirs to the Ada Traditional Council in support of this years’ Ada Asafotufiam festival.Tigo’s Brand Communications Manager, Linda Narh said Tigo as a brand recognizes the significance role arts and culture play in the lives of a people, especially Ghanaians hence its resolve to support festivals as a way of projecting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.Beyond the donation to the traditional authority, Tigo has also committed to renovate the maternity ward of the Ada Health Centre to help improve the quality of health care delivery within the community.According to Linda Narh, for every festival that Tigo celebrates with the natives, this year, it will embark on a CSR project that is most pressing to the needs of the people.“We believe this will help indigenes recognize festivals as not only an opportunity to celebrate their culture but also, embark on developmental projects to improve their living conditions of the people within the community,” she said.Tigo, in collaboration with the Adom TV is celebrating this year’s festivals with the twelve different communities with a big musical concert dubbed TIGOFEST. Adom TV’s concert party show will also tour a number of communities during the TIGOFEST to entertain and excite the locals.The Ada Asafotufiam festival is celebrated every year by the people of the Ada traditional council (which is made of Okansey kope, Big Ada, Adafour, Addakope, Kassieh, Hwakpo, Tsalekope, Ayamaame, Pute, Totope, Adadetsekope, Gorm, Atotokope). The festival is the remembrance of the achievements in the wars for settlement fought by their ancestors.
