Security chiefs in the country will later Tuesday brief President Mahama on security arrangements being put in place to avert any violence before, during and after the Supreme Court verdict.
Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who disclosed this, said the President has been keenly following all the measures and is certain Ghana will remain peaceful after the verdict.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu was speaking at the Daily Media Briefing at the Flagstaff House in Accra Tuesday.
According Kwakye Ofosu, President John Mahama has expressed satisfaction with security arrangements put in place to avert any trouble as a result of the verdict.
"His Excellency is confident we will rise to the occasion once more, as we have done over the last two decades," he said.
He noted that since Ghana returned to constitutional rule, it has held six consecutive elections but "we have come out unscathed. His Excellency does not anticipate that the situation will change".
He assured that the President is committed to ensure the security and wellbeing of Ghanaians.
